What we do

Stapleford Town Council is the most local tier of Local Government. Above us sit Broxtowe Borough Council and Nottinghamshire County Council. Together these authorities provide the myriad of services which impact on your day to day life.

The Town Council has only 1 duty (the provision of allotments) and many discretionary powers. Most of the things we do such as the provision of events (Remembrance Sunday, Garden Competition) are discretionary. We also provide funding towards the Christmas Light Switch, Play day and Hemlock Happening events. We provide grant funding to local groups through our S137 powers.
