About
Stapleford Town Council came into being in 1987 when the area became a parish. The Town is represented by 18 Town Councillors including the Town Mayor.
The Town Council provides allotments to the local community and acts as a statutory consultee for planning matters, ensuring that local views are represented to Broxtowe Borough Council when they make their decisions on planning applications.
Local events such as the Christmas Lights Switch on, playdays, Hemlock Happening and Remembrance Sunday rely on support from the Town Council.
Based at the Carnegie Civic and Community Centre on Warren Avenue, the Council employees 4 part-time staff; the Town Clerk, a Finance and Admin Assistant and 2 Caretakers.
Meetings of the Council are usually held every 6 weeks on a Friday night (except in August and December) and members of the public are welcome to attend. Please see our events calendar for dates.
